| The
Duraline / [MG]² Camera Lowering Connector System
allows for a camera and its housing to be detached from its position
high atop a pole; and easily and safely lowered to ground level
on a stainless steel aircraft cable with a portable winch. This
provides for safe, simple, and quick camera installations, maintenance,
and/or replacement. The weather-tight system consists of an arm,
a winch, a cast aluminum disconnect unit and durable, rubber-molded
male and female connectors for pole-mounted, multi-function surveillance
cameras. The heart of the system is the patented water-proof connector
assembly. Each connector is comprised of a “socket half”
and a “pin half”. After all the mechanical parts of
the disconnect unit have aligned, the connector halves will engage
to make electrical and signal contact. The “socket half”
is secured to the fixed portion of the disconnect unit and the “pin
half” is attached to the movable portion of the disconnect
unit. Spring assisted “socket half” maintains constant
pressure on the “pin half”, ensuring complete insulation
of the contacts.
The connectors
are available in several configurations, including10-wire (with
two coaxial connectors), 15-wire (with one coaxial connector) or
20-wire, to suit the requirements of the application. The system
is designed to allow cameras to be lowered and maintained without
the use of bucket-trucks and heavy equipment. The system is ideal
for uses wherever cameras are used, roadways, banks, prisons, office
complexes, residential areas, etc.
No other system
on the market provides the convenience of camera lowering for maintenance.
Key
Benefits:
•
Weather-tight system keeps moisture and contaminants out.
•
Allows maintenance of cameras without the use of heavy equipment
(saves money). Further, depending upon the placement of the cameras,
previously required lane closings, outriggers, crash trucks and
cone crews for maintenance are eliminated. Maintenance cost and
necessary personnel are considerably reduced.
•
Connectors are molded of Hypalon (registered trademark DuPont Dow Elastomers) chlorosulfonated polyethylene type 4085 rubber, making them long lasting
and able to withstand abusive environments.
•
System withstands wind forces of 130 mph with a 30 percent gust
factor using a 1.65 safety factor.
•
Cameras can be installed at any height to provide a greater field
of view because height is not limited to the reach of large bucket
trucks.
