| The
Duraline / [MG]² Fixture Lowering Connector System
allows for lighting
fixtures and their housings to be detached from their position high
atop a pole, and easily and safely lowered to ground level on a
stainless steel aircraft cable with a portable winch. This provides
for safe, simple, and quick lighting fixture installations, maintenance,
and/or replacement. The weather-tight system consists of an arm,
a cast-aluminum disconnect unit and durable, rubber-molded male
and female connectors.
The connectors
are available in a four-wire configuration and the ground contact
is longer than the power contacts so it makes first and breaks last.
The system is designed to allow lighting fixtures to be lowered
and maintained without the use of bucket-trucks and heavy equipment,
and can withstand wind forces of 130 mph with a 30 percent gust
factor.
The system is
ideal for uses wherever lighting fixtures are used, roadways, banks,
prisons, office complexes, residential areas, etc.
Key
Benefits:
•
Weather-tight system keeps moisture and contaminants out.
•
Allows maintenance of lighting fixtures without the use of heavy
equipment (saves money). Further, depending upon the location of
the fixtures, previously required lane closings, outriggers, crash
trucks and cone crews for maintenance are eliminated. Maintenance
cost and necessary personnel are considerably reduced.
•
Connectors are molded of Hypalon (registered trademark DuPont Dow Elastomers) chlorosulfonated polyethylene type 4085 rubber making them long lasting
and able to withstand abusive environments.
•
System can withstand wind forces of 130 mph with a 30 percent gust
factor using a 1.65 safety factor.
•
Light fixtures can be installed at any height because height is
not limited to the reach of large bucket trucks.
