FL
Lighting Systems
****NOW IP-68 RATED****
The FL Lighting System is designed so that when a pole is accidentally
knocked down, the pole cable will disconnect leaving a 2" to
3" of cable and a disconnected female plug (intrinsically safe)
above ground. This system eliminates damage to cable systems in the
downed pole or in adjacent poles. Competitor's roadway systems utilize
breakaway fuse holders, which are crimped onto the cable. This type
of arrangement is known to cause damage to the cable systems of not
only the damaged pole, but also adjacent poles. A pole that has been
knocked down in an accident leaves live, exposed wires above ground.
These wires can easily spark a fire or electrocute accident victims,
rescue workers or repairmen. Rework of two or more poles is generally
required to repair the system. The distinguishing feature of the FL
system is that the surge Arrestor is positioned after the fuses in
the fused distribution cable assembly, on the load side of the circuit.

assembly, on the line side of the circuit.
