Duraline 518 Single Pole Connectors
When power connections have to work the first time, every time, complexity becomes the enemy. That’s exactly why Duraline designed the 518 Series Single Pole Connectors to be simple, intuitive, and dependable in the harshest environments. Made with pride in the USA, these connectors focus on one thing above all else: making high-power connections easier and safer for the people who use them.
Designed for Fast, Stress-Free Connections
The defining feature of the 518 Series is its patented 360-degree, non-specific orientation design. Unlike traditional connectors that require precise alignment, keyways, or cam positioning, 518 Series connectors can be mated and locked from any angle.
The integrally molded collet on the male connector locks directly onto the ball-nose shape of the female connector. Once engaged, the locking ring slides forward over the collet, increasing retention force while still allowing free rotation. Even with rigid or heavy cables, the connection remains secure without placing stress on the conductors.
Built for Real-World Abuse
Every material in the 518 Series is chosen for durability and long service life:
- Connector bodies and caps are molded rubber for impact resistance and sealing
- Contacts are made from copper alloy for high conductivity
- Locking rings are durable plastic, designed to maintain smooth operation
When mated, connector pairs are fully watertight. They are well-suited for environments where equipment is routinely washed down with high-pressure water during cleanup procedures.
High Power, Wide Range Capability
The 518 Micro, Junior, and Senior Series connectors are designed and tested for both AC and DC applications, covering an exceptionally wide operating range:
- Current ratings from 50 amps up to 1000 amps in a single connector
- Voltage ratings up to 5 kV
- Standard configurations supplied on 600-volt cable with waterproof caps
- Optional 1 kV, 2 kV, and 5 kV cable available
For applications requiring even higher current, multiple connectors can be grouped together to reach ratings such as 2000 amps using multi-gang housings and panels.
Connectors are available in multiple colors to support clear phase identification and reduce connection errors in the field.
Ideal for Demanding Applications
The ease of use and rugged construction of the 518 Series make it a natural fit anywhere high-power quick disconnects are required, including:
- Railroad cars
- Power plants and generators
- Tunnels and underground installations
- Oil rigs and refineries
- Aircraft carriers and shipboard power systems
In environments where downtime is costly and conditions are unforgiving, the ability to connect and disconnect power quickly and confidently matters.
Proven for Critical Infrastructure
The 518 Series can be manufactured to conform to IEEE-383 requirements for Class 1E applications in nuclear-fueled power plants. In these facilities, crews often work under strict time-exposure limits. The fast, tool-free connect and disconnect capability of the 518 Series helps minimize task time while maintaining safety and reliability.
Built to Your Specifications
Every 518 Series connector and receptacle is built to the customer’s electrical requirements, including voltage, amperage, cable size, and color coding. This ensures each assembly fits seamlessly into the application it’s intended for, without compromise.
Simple by Design. Reliable by Nature.
The Duraline 518 Series proves that innovation doesn’t have to mean complexity. By eliminating orientation issues, reducing mechanical stress, and sealing out the elements, these connectors deliver exactly what crews need: fast connections, dependable power, and one less thing to worry about on the job.
